Struggling UK game retailer, GAME, has publicly released a statement saying it intends to file for administration. As shown with previous articles, many suppliers where simply refusing to sell their games to the retailer, this just pushing the firm more out of business.
They froze the selling of all their shares, at 2.39p, a significant fall from 62p just over a year ago.
However this does not mean that the high-street game stores will be gone, there are still places available to purchase games, such as GAME’s sister company they purchased a year ago, GameStation, which will not be closing down. There is also HMV and smaller business such as Virtual Game.
So if you want a couple of deals, find out when your local GAME is closing, mines this Friday, so don’t expect any articles from me then!
